How it is priced
Priced in writing after a free on-site assessment
Demolition is priced job by job. We look at the space with you, name what we find, and put the price in writing before any work begins.
What we check at your free assessment
- Hidden damage behind old drywallWe check it with youWe look with you for signs of water damage, old wiring and rot before the walls come down. Your written quote says how any repair found is priced.
- Permit and inspectionsWe take care of itYour municipality’s building division decides which parts of the work need a permit. Where yours does, we handle it from the application to the final municipal inspection.
- Asbestos check before anything comes outBefore work startsWalls, tile, flooring, plaster and ceilings that will be removed are checked before they are disturbed. If asbestos is found, its removal is priced separately before any work goes ahead.
- Condo board approval and building rulesDepends on the buildingWhether the condo board has to approve the work, and which building rules apply, depends on your building.

Your written quote names each of these lines where your job needs it. They are listed in the order the work is done.
Hazardous material testing
Where asbestos or another hazardous material is suspected, samples are cut from the old finishes and sent to a laboratory before anything comes out.
Line disconnection and capping
Water lines are capped, the drain is plugged and live wiring is disconnected into a closed junction box before the walls come down.
Containment and dust control
On request, a barrier wall with a sealed door closes off the work area from the rest of your home, taped down at the floor, with air filtration for jobs that need it.
Targeted or full gut removal
Drywall, cabinets and flooring come out, from one room to the whole interior, down to the studs.
Structural removals
A load-bearing wall comes out, and a new beam on temporary posts takes the load it carried.
Debris removal and disposal
The debris goes into bins we arrange and is hauled away to disposal facilities. The floor is swept at the end.

What people ask before a demolition job
How much does demolition cost?
Demolition is priced after a free on-site assessment, because every job is different. How much comes out, and whether a load-bearing wall or live lines are involved, sets the price. Your quote comes in writing after that visit.
How long does it take?
Most demolition jobs take one to seven days.
Do I need a permit to tear something down?
It depends on the work, and your municipality’s building division decides. Where yours needs a permit, as it may for a load-bearing wall, we handle it from the application to the final municipal inspection.
Do you handle mould and asbestos during demolition?
We check for both before anything comes out. Samples of suspected asbestos go to a laboratory, and if asbestos is found, its removal is priced separately before any work goes ahead. Mould that turns up is priced in your written quote.
What happens to the debris?
We arrange the bins and haul the debris away to disposal facilities. The floor is swept at the end.
Is financing available?
Yes, through our partner Financeit, on approved credit. Financing is available to homeowners and individual owners of rental properties. The terms are confirmed in writing before any work starts. We go through the options with you at the assessment.
