Your written quote names each of these lines where your floors need it. They are listed in the order the work is done.

Old floor removal

The old floor comes up, carpet with its pad and tack strip included, on the stairs as well as in the rooms.

Subfloor preparation

Loose boards are screwed down, squeaks are fixed, a damaged sheet is replaced and uneven spots are levelled before any new plank goes down.

Moisture barrier and underlayment

Where the floor calls for it, an underlayment goes down first, with a moisture barrier over a concrete basement slab. The seams are overlapped and taped.

Hardwood and vinyl plank

The new floor is laid with its joints staggered. Depending on the material, wood is left in your home to adjust to its temperature and humidity before it goes down.

Stairs and transitions

We floor existing stairs; new stairs are a separate job we do not take on. A transition strip goes where the new floor meets another floor at a doorway.

Do I need to visit a showroom to pick my materials?

No. We bring flooring samples to your home, so you can see the grain and the colour in your own light before you choose.

Do you fix uneven or squeaky subfloors first?

Yes. Loose boards, squeaks and uneven spots are fixed and levelled before any new plank goes down, and your written quote says how that work is priced.

Can you refinish the hardwood I already have?

Yes. Scratches and faded areas are sanded down, then a stain and a clear finish go on. The calculator above covers new floors, so refinishing is priced at the free assessment.

Is financing available?

Yes, through our partner Financeit, on approved credit. Financing is available to homeowners and individual owners of rental properties. The terms are confirmed in writing before any work starts. We go through the options with you at the assessment.
